"Well, there's an old saying that you get what you pay for. That happens to be completely true with this gun. Surprisingly, for an all polymer gun it's pretty durable feeling and fairly well constructed too.
It's real light weight and all black instead of that kinda grey shimmer I see when I look at the pictures(may just be my screen brightness). But, its a good piece for both looking at and playing around with.
For starters, it has a pretty decent ROF, about the same as most AK's I've shot. Around 650 or so I'd say. It's FPS is low and what's advertised on the box although I've chronographed it to 290 with Golden Ball 0.12's. And for the price it is one of the best low power AEG's I've handled.
The drawbacks I've noticed is that the battery compartment is tight, and requires a screwdriver to reach, so no battery change mid battle. The mag is tight fitting just a bit but it'll loosen up in time I'm sure. Also, it jams up a little here and there when firing full auto(the fix I've used was to switch to semi and fire a round or two then switch back to auto. Tends to work). And lastly, it's of course a polymer gear box which can't hold up to sustained autofire.
You can start to smell that melting plastic odor a bit and the grip gets a tad bit hot. But, what do you expect from a gun that's 50 bucks? It's a fun little back yard shooter for sure, and the problems it has all seem to have simple fixes. The only other issue I had was the hop up. I had to slide it all the way up, otherwise it just goes everywhere. At least that's how it was for me anyhow.
I recommend this gun for anybody who is a beginner to airsofting or anybody who just wants a gun for shooting around the yard and whatnot. As well as anybody who just likes the AK-12 design(Was my reason for buying it). I've already checked, it's not compatible with any other AK-74 or 47 mags, so you're limited there. But for the price, for the quality it has, and for the fun it will provide, 50 dollars is a great bargain for this gun.
I hope that this review with help anybody who is considering buying one of these for themselves. But one of the main upsides to this weapon is the over and under slung rails(polymer as well) but a cheap grip and red dot later and this is a nice little tactical AK for shooting your friends with. I haven't tried it with 0.20s or heavier yet, but I plan to."
