Our take:  The COLT Full Metal M4 CQB-R Airsoft AEG Rifle is an exciting all-new release from the boys at CYMA, with FULL COLT trademarks.  This is one of the FIRST new AEGs out on the market from Cybergun that features the new Colt licensing, and it sure is a beauty.  From the rugged and durable full metal build to the ultra high-quality performance-oriented gearbox, motor, and internals, this rifle SCREAMS quality & performance.

The build quality and attention to detail on this M4 CQB-R is more then enough proof as to how and why CYMA is still one of the best and largest manufacturers of Airsoft guns.  COLT, as selective as they are with licensing, certainly took notice of the great job CYMA/Cybergun did to re-create this M4 CQB-R, which is why Colt has even agreed to allow CYMA to stamp this rifle with the official COLT trademark in the first place.  Collectors as well as seasoned Airsoft players now have another masterpiece to add to their collections.

Performance wise, this rifle is astounding.  With a full metal gearbox that boasts a high-performance gear set and a high-torque motor to support the gearbox, this rifle is able to shoot 400+ FPS smoothly and accurately.  With an effective range of over 190 feet, the 'CQB' designation is mischievously misleading, as this rifle can still run with the big boys in outdoor scenarios, which generally translates to:  it DOMINATES in actual CQB (close quarters battle).

A 6-point retractable/adjustable crane stock holds a nunchuck battery quite nicely, while allowing you to customize the stock position to your liking to maximize comfort.  A fully integrated forward rail system replaces the handguard to make this rifle a highly modular weapon platform that essentially allows you to customize to your heart's desire, allowing for the addition of lasers, flashlights, optics, forward grips, and even grenade launchers with relative ease.

A standard CQB adjustable metal rear sight and metal front sight allow for great aim, but we highly recommend the use of a red dot scope to further push the capabilities of this weapon since faster target acquisition ultimately means higher-performance game play.

    Other Notable Features:
    Removable Metal Rear Sight
    CNC Machined RIS Rail System
    BAX Accuracy System
6-Position Adjustable Stock for Custom Arm/Shoulder Fit
    Maximum Range of 190+ feet

    Specifications:

    Fantastic Airsoft!
    12/08/11
    By: Alex the Great

"I got this airsoft gun yesterday and may I just say, WOW! CYMA has really stepped up their game and produced an excellent weapon. As far as the power goes, it dominates. 453FPS with .12g bb's, but keep in mind that you should not use any brand of .12g bb's with this weapon due to the high performance of the gun. I recommend using Golden Ball .20g BB's. At this BB weight (.20g) it shoots 361 FPS. The max distance is 192 feet or 64 yards. I would not recommend this gun for anyone under the age of 12 because of the realism of this gun. It weighs 8.24 pounds and I even get tired of lugging it around. It comes with an 8.4V Nunchuck battery which gives is a good, not great rate of fire. Personally, I think the ROF is great. I don't really need it any faster, but for extreme airsofters you will probably want to upgrade to a 9.6V. Overall, I love this gun. Only time will tell how good it really is. If it breaks anytime in the future I will let you guys know. Thanks."

"I got this gun on December 29th, 2011 and it has done nothing but impress me (after owning a JG, I am kind of easy to impress). It is incredibly accurate (150-200ft easily, once sighted in PERFECTLY), it hasn't jammed once (I just recently cleaned for the first time, I didn't clean it for a test I was doing), and it isn't 453 FPS, it's more like 400-425 FPS, but FPS isn't everything at all. The externals are aluminum/pot metal (not possible to weld, but the metal is too thick to crack). I have put 28,000 rounds through the gun and haven't heard any crying from the motor, nor the gearbox. Lately; however, I had to swap the gearbox due to a hairline crack that formed on it, but that is prone to happen with a V2 gearbox. Smart charger should be required for ALL airsoft guns, so you should buy one. I have also dropped this gun and got it completely soaked with water (another test to see how tough this gun is) and I saw absolutely no problem with the gun whatsoever. The hairline crack on the gearbox formed at 25,000 rounds by the stress of the spring, which is somewhat normal. Overall, amazing rifle, I would recommend this to all airsofters because it is durable, reliable, accurate, painful, and realistic as heck. Although it is heavy (10-12 lbs) you get used to the weight."

"This rifle is my best in my armory. I did a 1 v 3 with this gun and I won 2 of the kids had full metal ak-47s and the other have a sniper. They werent even close! This gun shoots very straight and has very hard fps. It's better than my g36c too. And the rate of fire is amazing. I also recommend getting a sling. Mine came with an extra mag but it's not in the description. I recommend upgrading the battery to a 9.6 v with at least 1300 mah but preferably 1800 mah buy this gun! (:"

"I have the non cqb version of this gun, which got discontinued for some reason. I love it! I dropped the mag a couple times and it gave out. I got a 9.6 v battery for it and use the one it comes with as a backup. It is a great gun and is super accurate and super heavy (I like that) Overall this gun is pretty good and I recommend it to someone ho wants to get it"

    Specific Review
    04/10/13
    By: Oshibai

"I have had this gun for about a year and a half now. And let me just say this gun really gives all those really pricey guns a run for there money (big time). I normally use 20g bb's for this gun which gives me an FPS of 375. I believe on the box it states it has 400 FPS. but that is with really light bb's, which you wouldn't want to use. This is by far my primary Air gun in every game. I've used it in Dallas Texas matches playing against hundreds of people, and it being one of the most hard hitting guns on the field. To state some specifics on the gun, I will start by saying about 80% of the gun is metal. Parts of the gun that are metal include...Upper and lower reciever(body of the gun), Stock bar, all RIS rails, Barrel, Front and rear sights, trigger Mechanisim, Magazine, Sling rings, bolt, and of cours the Gear box. In fact the only parts of the gun that are polymer plastic (which is a good plastic) are the Crane stock, and the Pistol grip. The gun is also very easy to take apart to apply oil to it. And the hop up is easy to adjust. Simply pull the bolt exposing the chamber and there it is. Of course I purchased a HOLO sight for this along with a Grip and it looks and works great. Overall this gun is solid and amazing. But every gun has a problem you might not like. One on this gun would be the bottom weaver rail on the front. it makes some noise because it is a little loose. It's in no way a gun defect though just depends on the person. But it does not effect the guns preformence. And another thing that might bug you is the way you put the battery in. You put the nunchuck battery in the crane stock, which can be a pain until you get use to it. I would adjust the stock before putting the battery in because adjusting while it's in could pull hard on some wires in the gun. Thats pretty much it. 5 stars from me. They did a good job!"

"I have had my CYMA M4 for about 3 years now. I have done 0 internal mods and it preforms great. The only things I have done to mine is a 9.6V and some external work. I've used this game at Broken Home, RDGX, and XI, and other well known airsoft events and it has never failed me. I highly recommend this gun to any player type from beginner to seasoned."

"I got this gun today, and I have to say it is the coolest airsoft gun I have seen. Full metal, around 440-460 fps. Better than my friends 400$ PPSH-41. Only thing I didn't like was that the part where you put your battery is kinda hard to pop out, but other than that it is great!"

"This gun is great! Had to wait for 6 business days for the gun to show up. It is completely metal except for the stock. The accuracy on this gun is perfect. Charges up to 5 hours and you're good to go! The average fps for this gun is around 350-400fps, yet accurate. This gun is worth buying.. especially the huge discount on this gun. "

    Solid, accurate Colt m4 replica
    05/11/11
    By: Vincent Smith

"For a $150 doorbuster,I couldn't be happier!!! I'm a 6 year Army vet,so I was eager to see exactly how accurate this was to what I was familiar with. The overall finish and construction makes for a very authentic looking AEG. The gun is very accurate and very powerful and has good sustained ROF and projectile speed. The magazine has a slightly loose fit. This isn't a big deal to me and it's probably more of an issue with the included mag than it is the fit of the mag well. The included sling is total crap. Spend an extra $20 and get a good 3pt sling because the one that comes in the box is practically useless as a 3pt,it's really a 1pt with an extra flap of sling on it. Summary: Pros: -authentic look and feel -good rate of fire -excellent fire power/speed -includes batter and charger(get yourself a smart charger) -very well built and constructed Cons: -can be heavy for younger arms to carry for an extended period of time -the included sling is semi-worthless"

Hi can anyone tell me if you can put a silencer on this gun and if you can what size? thanks can someone please respond thanks.

    AMS CS:

Any standard 14mm counter-clockwise threaded barrel extension/silencer will be compatible with this AEG. The AGM 175mm aluminum barrel extension/silencer is one of our most popular, check it out!

"This gun is above all others. Where do I start... Pros: -400-420 FPS w/ .2g -Nice light and durable aluminum receiver. -Flash suppressor is as real as it gets. -Accurate. 1" groupings at 100 feet. -Ridiculous RoF. With my 9.4v, it shoots over 1050rpm! -Stock is comfortable and sturdy. -Magazine fits in perfectly. -Awesome RIS and outer barrel. -Iron sights are military-grade. -Motor grip is sturdy and comftorable. -I LOVE THIS THING. Cons: -Motor grip came off, but easily fixed with superglue. -Why was the flash suppressor glued to the gun? Forced me to use a wrench, threading is almost completely destroyed. Steel threading should have been used... -Heavy? Psh, man up bro."

    Pretty Good

    By: Josh

"bought this gun a few months back, sadly only had time to shoot it a few times here and there, had a 1 vs 1 matches against my brother with it. over all was very good, gearbox is not bad, could be a bit higher quality, it is a version 2 gearbox. i'm no marksmen but can hit a soda can from about 100 ft relatively well. recommend getting a 9.6v battery 1600 mah helps alot. people said that the clips that are used to hold the battery in the stock were a pain or broke... there not as bad as they were described... it is annoying and would be hard to change in the middle of a match. the main thing that i did not much care for was the wiring of the gear box, its stiff, not rubbery like it should so there is a chance of that breaking. its rather stiff but that can be changed out. but would recommend this gun to anyone that is starting out in airsoft or would like to had a overall good gun to there collection."

"This gun is great!!! I use it as my Primary in the long range games, and it preforms great! Looks cool as well! There are only a few issues I found with it; A huge red sticker that is hard to remove is right on the side, the range isn't the best for long range battle, and no imitation bolt. But overall, 4/5 stars. Pros: Looks cool FULL Metal (Heavey!!) Comes with two high cap mags Accurate to a point Great RPM Cons: Range is, meh... annoying sticker no imitation bolt (just a con for me)"

    Good, but Needs Work
    02/02/14
    By: David

"Heavy beast of a gun. Good heft. Rather sloppy workmanship; paint on right side has a few grainy particles. RIS rails are very wobbly; I replaced with $20 aftermarket quad rails off eBay which tightened up the system completely. Gun fires very hard. Using an Xcortech x3200 chrono, it registered a very solid 385-390fps with .20's. Accuracy when working (see below) is average to above average (able to consistently hit soda can at ~75-80 ft) with aid of RDS and bipod. Magazines have a wobbly fit, and the release is very sensitive, resulting in many inadvertently dropped mags. After about a week, gun started exhibiting very erratic performance: dry firing, double feeds, drastically low fps on some shots, wild fliers on others, complete inaccuracy. Cleaning the barrel didn't help. When I disassembled the barrel and hop-up unit for a more thorough cleaning and examination, I noticed the bucking (which, surprising, looked similar to a PDI-W style bucking) was torn in two places. The barrel also had several deep scratches (only new Golden Balls bb's were ever used). I ended up ordering new buckings and a 6.03 TTB from Madbull. Hopefully that'll solve the problems. Pros: heavy metal body, hard shooter @ stock, very solid feel once battened down Cons: poor workmanship, damaged bucking/barrel, very wobbly quad rails In sum, a gun with excellent potential, but you'll need to work on it. Recommended."
