"i have been engaging in airsoft skirmishes for several years now, and not the back yard type mind you, but full on mil-sim type airsoft. i have had many guns over the years, mostly assorted AEG's and SPRING rifles, and it has always been a pleasant surprise when my less expensive guns out preform the higher end weapons time and again. Now anyone who plays seriously will almost always recommend that you get an AEG (except for the die hard Green Gas, CO2, And SPRING fans) if you plan to play more actively. however, SPRING weapons also have their distinct uses. it is always so satisfying to watch the enemy intent on their surroundings flinch as they are stung by my BB's and try to figure out where it came from. this gun is perfect for such a task. i recently had an opportunity to use this gun at a match between my team and another one on some land that we frequent. it was awesome. i had my standard AEG, and was borrowing the M14 from a friend in a nearby position. we were pinned down in a small section of forest with about 4 enemies in front and to the side of us. i have a gift for moving unseen and unheard in the rush, but AEGS are not advantageous for that kind of gift since they immediately give away your position after you open up. so i traded with my friend and moved off a little ways into the thicket and waited to see some sign of movement from the enemy. once they started moving i pulled off two shots in rapid succession nailing the lead man. he was looking around to see where the shot was from and couldnt find me at all. after doing the same to another one of the enemies, they finally moved off allowing us to escape. moral of the story? this gun is highly effective especially with a trained eye. use the iron sights, the RDS or scope isnt really that effective. as for a bipod? i think they are cumbersome and loud, they also add extra weight to the gun. i suggest a bare bones approach with this gun, with perhaps an exception to be made for the sling (which is hard to attach). its muzzle velocity well exceeds 340 fps with .2's and is capable of accurate fire within about 50 yards. most effective from a kneeling or prone position. its not much use in a prolonged skirmish, but if you have the drop on them, it is a highly efficient weapon. i highly recommend this for any woodland games, or for anyone who wishes to dispatch their enemy's quietly and from a distance."
