"Just got my "Artillery" Luger in tonight. Have ordered the a shoulder stock holster which is coming as this is the real way this gun was carried and used. I am a former Luger owner (4) and a living history buff. I am deeply impressed by the design. Although it is not as "solid' feeling as the real thing (the real thing feels like solid steel in your hand as the tolerances are very close and the steel is dense) due to the need to function, It nonetheless captures the look and feel in the hand as the original. I am not a shooter, any shooting will be to display function at living history events and this luger is perfect for this. While the black finish is not identical to the original blued high polish finish of this era it is sufficient. However the one glaring mistake which is correctable and forgivable is that with WWI Lugers certain parts were not blued but "straw" colored, a yellow stain finish on the trigger, takedown lever, safety lever and safety indicator but this will be fun to try to "duplicate". I wish We had left these parts in the "bright" or "gray" to make this easier, I could then have just put some transparent yellow stain on those parts. To me it is a five not only as is but fore its potential to be cosmetically upgraded. The two digit serial placement on many of the parts is a nice touch as is the date on the receiver. I will be looking into maybe adding a four digit serial, proof marks, and a DWM logo on the toggle. All in all, for the price outstanding, far better than the "replica" non-firing Lugers on the Market. Field stripping is remarkably like the original also."
