Our take:  Maruzen is a legendary name in the airsoft world, but hunting down a brand new Maruzen pistol has always proved difficult due to the fact that traditionally, Maruzen Airsoft models were only imported into the United States in extremely-small quantities and have ended up in the hands of only the most avid collectors due to their extremely high prices.  Additionally, any 'fully-marked' versions bearing full trademarks (Walther, in this case) were unlicensed and therefore deemed non-legal for import.

Fast forward to today, and Umarex USA has released this fully licensed Walther P38, manufactured by Maruzen in Japan with full trademarks intact.  It is one of the most beautifully-crafted airsoft gas blowback pistols we've ever had the pleasure of handling, and stays true to its real-steel counterpart with an authentic weight, ultra high-quality build materials, and a highly authentic blowback that generates a generous recoil after every shot.

Semi-automatic firing means that you can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger.  Because it is powered by green gas (or propane if you opt for a propane adapter), this Walther P38  packs quite a mean punch and is a knock-out in terms of performance.  It shoots at 300-340 FPS with 0.20g BBs, with a fully functioning blowback system that delivers a 'kick' after every shot!  The perfect slide movement allows for you to feel the realism of a real shot without any detrimental effects to your aim/accuracy.  It combines both power and accuracy to deliver a one-of-a-kind shooting experience.

The P38 is quality constructed, and manufactured in Japan by Maruzen (under license by Walther/Umarex).  So whether you're a WWII arms collector or just an avid Airsofter with a keen eye for an amazing gun at an amazing price, this pistol is definitely the way to go for the discerning airsoft buyer who demands the very best in a sidearm.

    Oh myyy...

"Based on what I have seen, this looks like a hardy gun with decent accuracy. Don't expect to hit things past 100 ft, but this still seems like an excellent sidearm. I still don't know if I feel comfortable spending $150 on a mostly plastic gun, but I'm really thinking about it. I was just wondering; where can you get extra mags for this?"

"To the person who used .12's in this pistol: NEVER use .12's in anything by grenades. .12's break apart from force when fired and will completely and totally ruin a gun. Just use .20's. Much safer, much better, tighter groupings and accuracy. Far as gas efficiency to the other guy? It will get the entire magazine off, this much I know. Held one inside a local shop. Very, very comfortable gun to hold; has a good heft to it. And it definitely gets all the shots off. As to how many extra on a single magazine gas fill on propane (green gas is propane with additives...same thing) I'm not sure. With the kind of power this gun can deliver, if you're looking for a nice pistol, this baby's nice. Anywho, this is a nice pistol. I would recommend it, but there are also lots of other options worth considering too. This is definitely a great pistol for anyone involved in WWII scenarios, as this was a primary german sidearm, as well as the PPK. (No, lugers were not often issued. It's a myth.)"
