"The javelin is well constructed with a full metal body and nice 6 position stock. The fps out of the box is a little high, chrono was 420-432 fps on .20 bb's but does settle down after the spring relaxes to typical field speeds of 380-400 fps. The gun is front wired and was a little tight to get a 9.6 v battery in so I decided to go with a nunchuk 7.4 lipo battery that fit very nicely. The gun is amazingly accurate out of the box and reaches the 200-220 ft mark before experiencing large drifting off target. The mag well had alot of wobble which we corrected using the velcro method and had no issues after that running a variety of different mag brands. I ran a 7.4 15c lipo battery in ours putting through just over 10500 rounds before I had my first issue. The electric blow back feature of the gun caused a massive failure of the gear box. Two small metal ears on the blow back mechanisim had broken off and damaged the internal gears and piston. This gave me a chance to check out the gear box where we found 7mm metal bushings, decent gear set *could have been shimmed better*, a very nice anti reversal latch set up *which should be copied by all companies in my opinion* and low resistance wiring. The mech box itself could be beefed up a bit more though and the mech box screws were all loose when we took the gun apart. I rebuilt the mech box and left out the electronic blow back assembly and added some lock tight to the screws. As of today this gun is still running strong and shooting straight... even though I had a bad failure I would still recommend this gun to others.
Pro's: Full metal construction, decent fps, VERY accurate, nice range, lipo ready, great looking gun.
Con's: Electric blow back poorly designed, loose screws in mech box, mag well too loose, no battery with gun,
This is a great gun with some minor issues that need to be addressed. If you buy this gun do yourself a favour and take it apart and check the mech box screws. If they are loose add some lock tight to them. I highly recomend dissabling the electric blow back on the gun."
