Our take:  The DBoys M16 SPR Mod 1 comes with a full metal body (full metal receiver, barrel, and rail system) and a full metal gearbox is a value-minded, high-performance AEG.  It is one of the best choices for an AEG/sniper because its lack of compromise between realism and power.  With a full metal body and realistic weight, as well as a full metal gearbox that shoots hard, it is one of the best deals around because of its low price tag.

The M16 SPR takes all the best characteristics of a bolt action sniper rifle and a fully automatic AEG and combines them into one stunning, tactically-adept package.  Powerful and accurate, the DBoys Full Metal M16 SPR is impressive even in semi-automatic mode, let alone full auto.  The package comes complete with a premium spring-loaded full metal folding/adjustable bipod, which easily attaches under the rail.  It allows you to set your sniper down with ease, so you can focus on taking your best shot.  A tactical forward grip is also included for added ease when wielding the rifle.

A full metal rail system allows easy add-on (laser, flashlight, scope, forward grip, etc) installation.  The SPR features a unique extended rail system that is capable of handling a high number of tactical upgrades and add-ons.  The rail system is quality constructed, with no wobble.

"When i got this gun it was called an SPR mod 0. same exact gun. over all it is a very sturdy gun even with the floating barrel and it is heavy and heavy duty. have never had a problem with it. if you are ok with lugging around a few pounds, its an awesome DMR starter"

"ok for the stock if it split in half, glue it with super glue, and then get a long phillips screw driver and screw it, if no screw go to a hardware store and buy one , and or glue it to gun for more stregnth"

    CPO version
    14-09-13
    By: Walter

"so i bought this rifle and i got it through airsoft megastores CPO section for 130$ and for that price its not to bad, shoots consistantly and because it was cpo i got a 9.6 rather than the 8.4, i think sombody shimmed it as well because the motor runs flawlessly with no whineing or grinding, china grease was removed as well. id definatly replace the stock asap. the gearbox body is metal and i think could stand up to some upgradeing and the internals looked to be the norm for a 100-200$ version 2.. the body is soid but the metal isnt fantastic, the polymer of the grip feels nice but is extremly NON ambedextrous. the bipod is a decent harris but overall id say its good for the money i got it for, 190-220 is overspending...if you have that cash please go get the A&K you wont regret it and remember i got the CPO so the gearbox on mine might not even be the stock one, though i think it is"

"my friend has had this for a while now and i can say that it's pretty good. the fps and accuracy are pretty good but the rof is amazing even with an 8.4v battery! maybe i'll try it out with an 11.1v bat :) 4/5"

    needs a little work

"My mod 1 was very solid and shot great outta the box, however I could only pierce one side of a can with a .25. I broke it down, cleaned the excess grease and shimmed it. While I was in there I tested the compression, and there was none. I could cover the nozle and push the piston forward with no resistance what so ever. I slaped a G&P polycarb in along with a metal spring guide I had lying around and Booyah, shooting through the bottom now, no problem. Accuracy is so so but so goes the story with stock barrels. Overall a great performing solidly constructed AEG. Dboys does still require DIY quality control but nothin serious, just a few loose screws."

"the a&k version is better. it has stronger internals (metal bushings and stronger gearbox) and it also houses a stronger spring (it has a m130, while i think this gun features a m120) i've heard the a&k version metal is also of a higher quality, but im not sure about that one."

"I've own this gun for a month now and it has done great, but it hates to be used on Semi-auto. on full-auto it runs great with no trouble but on semi-auto it tends to jam. Also the mag that it comes with is to small for it's rate of fire, just got a dual drum mag and that has been a lot better"

"Don't buy this gun, I know it looks sexy as a DMR and you think it's good, but it's not. If you're looking to become serious in airsofting, save up about 30 more dollars and go buy the A&K Sr-25, that's what I did and haven't had any problems. The stock on this gun is horrible and the Fps is nowhere near the Sr-25. Just trust me. I know people don't really think about reviews but they're here for a reason."

"heres the good and the bad of this gun. the good: the mt body, and front end are fairly nice and i belive will hold up well. it has pretty decent range and acuratcey, and thats about it. the bad: we all know dboys gear boxes are crap and this on proved to be true after about 2500rds it died. one of the busings for the spur grear went to peices. the stock is very cheap. i didn't exspect it to last for ever but thought it would last more than one game. i had planned to put another gearbox in anyway for snipping but also planned to use that gearbox in a old JG for one of loaner. for the price i don't feel to bad. if you want to build a spr with this gun plan to replace the stock and gear box soon after you get it becuse they wont last. Think twice...
    16-02-10
    By: Alex Perry

"I have personally fielded this gun in game before, and don't get me wrong, it was good, but not nearly as good as the A&K M16 SPR...yes, the DBoys does come with a bipod, but it's internals are nowhere NEAR as good as the A&K version. Some internal differences are the metal bushings in the A&K, as well as a tightbore barrel and an M130 spring, compared to the M120 on the DBoys model. So do yourself a favor and get the A&K version. it's almost the same price...and what's more important to you? having a bipod? or having better, strong, more durable internals? Consider getting the A&K made version. "

"Bought the gun about a month ago, and it has been fielded multiple times now. Fom the day it was delivered, i had issues. First, the gun needed an immediate rebuild, as BBs were not firing from the barrel, despite the advertised high FPS. Found out the hop-up bucking was not installed correctly, so the BB's were getting trapped in the barrel. I then looked at the gearox and found hardly any grease in it. After the rebuild, the gun has done ok. Clear plastic hop-up assembly is less than ideal, but that can be upgraded. ROF is decent, although the FPS is lower than advertised (Chrono'd with .25g BB's yesterday at 311 FPS max). 3 stars for the metal rails, receiver, and design."

The store is amazing. I have found there items that I could not find in other stores which makes it the best. I have made questions and inquires about products and the customer service has responded super fast with accurate answers. All my products have arrived in excellent conditions in spite of other stores. My last product came late because it was rescheduled but that was UPS fault I think. I would like to thank Matthew for his exceptional customer service. Whenever you need help, please try to contact him. My advice, buy in Airsoft Megastore, they have coupons and the widest variety of airsoft products. RandyLoy, USA
I ordered a gun sling a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, one of the clips broke. After a few email correspondings with a customer service representative named Jun (my emails did not show a last name), AMS sent me a replacement sling for free. I did not even have to send my clip back. AMS is a terrific store and I plan on doing more business with them. They were polite, efficient, and just a pleasure to work with. I would recommend Airsoft Megastore to anyone. mskanwischer, USA
Airsoft Megastore is The Best Airsoft Website Out There (I Think) and i Will Always Be Loyal to AMS and Order Almost All of my Gear From Them. The Customer Service is Also Amazing, Jun my Customer Service Representative Has Helped Me With Anything i Needed Help With, Especially My Order Problem (Had 2 Magazines Missing from Order) and Jun Helped Me With The Problem, and Now The Mags Have Been Shipped To Me. Thank You So Much AMS and Jun. Ethan1214, Saskatchewan, Canada
I love that Airsoft Megastore has videos of most any information you will need to learn and care for your products. I purchased an AEG for my son and in short order, unfortunately, it began grinding after brief use. I emailed for warranty repair with symptoms and with 24 hours (22 to be exact) I received an email explaining possible causes with a video like for tuning the gun. I had the gun working again within 15 minutes, avoiding returning the gun and the mess associated with returns\repairs. Excellence on Sean's part to help out a first time customer of theirs. Highly recommend. bucfanjeff, USA
Everything worked great, shipping was super fast. I am very pleased and won't hesitate to order through airsoft megastore again. rob_riley, USA
I loved buying from airsoft megastore because the employees helped me recover my tracking number and told me where the package was at, I would love to buy from airsoft megastore again! Battlefield4Rule, USA
