Our take: This all-new 2010 production run JG AK47 Tactical RIS AEG with a built-in RIS system is one of the most versatile (and also one of the most well-rounded) AEGs that JG manufactures. It's a great choice for your primary AEG because of it exceeds in the 3 basic selection criteria: 1) POWER/ACCURACY, 2) RELIABILITY, and 3) VALUE.

The most unique feature about this airsoft rifle is also what makes it one of the most versatile AK47 rifles on the planet: a full metal tactical rear-folding stock. When extended, it makes outdoor play a sweeping blast. When folded, it will dominate your opponents in close quarters combat [CQC]. Its ability to mold its capabilities to a player's needs, be it engaging in outdoor long range combat or blasting full auto while tucked in during CQC makes it one of the most sought after AK47 rifles we carry here at Airsoft Megastore.

It remains to be one of the most durable and versatile AEGs that JG manufactures for under $150, and features reinforced internals for model year 2010 along with a slightly tighter bore barrel (down by approx. 0.01mm), to further improve upon both durability and accuracy. It holds an excellent balance between power, accuracy, and reliability like many of the more expensive AEGs out on the market, but just without the big price tags to match. We have chronograph verified this to shoot an average of 360-410 FPS with 0.20g BBs; the lowest shot we tested was chrono'ed at 353 FPS with 0.20g BBs and the highest clocked in at 414 FPS with 0.20g BBs.

It's one of the best deals on the market for a full size, full metal gearbox AK47 RIS, and the fact that this is the lastest enhanced model from JG (with reinforced gearbox, internals, and an upgraded ultra high-torque motor) means it is a serious power plant that doesn't make compromises. You get HIGH POWERED and ACCURATE shots out at sky-high rate of fire (over 800 rounds/minute) and you get the reliability that is synonymous with the JG brand. Its muzzle velocity even overpowers AK47 rifles from the likes of Tokyo Marui and ICS (both of which cost over $250).

But of course, the fact that it kicks the butts of rifles costing more than DOUBLE its price drives home the fact that at the end of the day, IT'S A JG. The combination of its solid, re-engineered and more-robust-than-ever JG V3 gearbox and its silky smooth ultra high-torque motor is undoubtedly the secret behind this rifle's success.

Other features include adjustable hop up, adjustable sights and of course, a metal rear folding/adjustable stock. With full aftermarket/OEM parts compatibility, this AEG can be easily customized and upgraded. The rail system further adds onto the upgrade potential of this gun, since you can add an almost endless amount of tactical accessories to it, including flashlights, scopes, lasers, and grenade launchers.

Battery Charger Recommendation: Although this fully automatic airsoft rifle comes with a standard wall charger to charge the battery, Airsoft Megastore recommends the use of a smart charger to avoid overcharging the battery (overcharged batteries may cause decreased airsoft gun performance and may shorten battery life significantly). Smart chargers not only shorten charge time significantly (up to 800% faster charging), but more importantly, also automatically shut off once the battery is fully charged to avoid overcharged batteries.

the selector switch is an easy fix. all you have to do is pop off the little round piece and tighten it. When you're done just pop it back on. I had that same problem.

there is a battery compartment on the top(the part that is a slightly different color of Grey) i don't actually own this particular gun but the 80 doller one and it is almost the same gun except this one has a higher fps and probably more metal inside and out.
