Description Real Gun Background Info

The M16 is a lightweight, 5.56 mm caliber, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed assault rifle, with a rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation. The rifle is made of steel, aluminum, and composite plastics. The U.S. Air Force's rifle, the M16, and the U.S. Army's rifle, the XM16E1, were the first versions of the M16 rifle fielded. Soon, the Army standardized the XM16E1 as the M16A1 rifle, an M16 with a forward assist feature requested by the Army. All of the early versions were chambered to fire the M193/M196 cartridge in the semi-automatic and the automatic firing modes. This occurred in the early 1960s, with the Army issuing it in late 1964.

Commercial AR-15s were first issued to Special Forces troops in spring of 1964. The M16A2 rifle entered service in the 1980s, chambered to fire the standard NATO cartridge, the Belgian-designed M855/M856 cartridge. The M16A2 is a select-fire rifle (semi-automatic fire, three-round-burst fire) incorporating design elements requested by the Marine Corps: an adjustable, windage rear-sight; a stock 5/8-inch longer; heavier barrel; case deflector for left-hand shooters; and cylindrical hand guards. The fire mode selector is on the receiver's left side. The M16A2 is still the primary rifle in the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, and still is in heavy use in the Army and Marine Corps. The M16A3 rifle is an M16A2 rifle with an M16A1's fire-mode control (semi-automatic fire, automatic fire) used only by the U.S. Navy. The M16A4 rifle was standard issue for the United States Marine Corps in Operation Iraqi Freedom; it replaced the M16A2 in front line units.

In the U.S. Army, the M16A2 rifle is being supplemented with two rifle models, the M16A4 and the M4 Carbine, as the standard issue Assault rifle. The M16A4 rifle has a flat-top receiver developed for the M4 Carbine, a handguard with four Picatinny rails for mounting a sight, laser, night vision device, forward handgrip, removable handle, and a flashlight. The M16 rifle is principally manufactured by the Colt and the Fabrique Nationale de Herstal arms companies, with the variant rifles made elsewhere in the world. Versions for the U.S. military have also been made by H & R Firearms General Motors Hydramatic Division and most recently by Sabre Defence Industries.

The semi-automatic versions of the M16 rifle, generally called the "AR-15" (Colt bought the nomenclature from Armalite), are popular, recreational shooting rifles, with versions manufactured by other small and large manufacturers in the U.S.

Reviewer: Jaffer from Dunstable, MA United States
Now I Have had only 3 AEG's but out of all of them this is one by far the best. It shoots at a good 200 Feet (with adjusted hop-up) then begins to drop. Nice Contruction and very good feel.

Pros
Accurat (Up to 200 ft)
Range (Again 200 ft)
Rate of Fire is great with an 8.4 or 9.6
Metal Contruction
FPS-400+
Can attach rail
Can remove rails
no wobble
Very roomy stock
Flip-Up sights
14mm thread
8 Pounds (can be con)
Alot of pro's

Cons
Mag has to be pushed in hard (Only applies for the mag that came with the package)
8 Pounds (can be pro)
a little hard to adjust hop-up
no front sling loop

Those cons are baby cons, plus theres more pros so this gun is a definetbuy I recommend this for any player!

Decent buy October 15, 2009
Reviewer: Braden from IL United States
This is my 2nd AEG. Arrived in about a week, decent ROF, mine came w/a 9.6 small battery, plastic bird cage flash suppressor was a pain to get off, motor is loud and echos in stock, decent range, heavy w/scope and bipod. Over all, nice rifle.

Mod 0 review August 20, 2009
Reviewer: karl from Phoenix, AZ United States
Good rate of fire and power, but one key design flaw. See that really long barrel?  It's is free floating in the foregrip...meaning, that long, heavy barrel is not supported except at the base. That is a terrible design flaw. That being the case, the barrel has worked itself loose and it is difficult to take apart this rifle to fix it. All they had to do is make a mount that fits into the end of the foregrip to secure the barrel snuggly, but they didn't. Don't buy this rifle because of that flaw.

great August 7, 2009
Reviewer: Garret Berky from Fleetwood, PA United States
This gun works really well. I've owned it for about a month now and it has worked great. Its accurate, i was able to watch the bb threw the sites the whole time on a atrget over 100 feet away. with a .2 bb there was about a 3 foot spred in that distance whcih is pretty good considering that its a smooth barrel and a round projectile. The battery pack it comes with is kinda small but i got a new one at HobbyTown that work fantastically. Theres no spot to mount a sling but u can buy a mount that goes on a rail and it didnt come with an instruction manual but most of that is just minor stuff. Over-all, it feels realistic when u are holding it, the hop-up works good (theres a gear you turn when u pul the charging handle, didnt know that at first). it shoots true and you wont be disappointed if you buy this gun

Review of M16 SPR July 27, 2009
Reviewer: Andrew from Minnesota, United States
This is an EXCELLENT gun! It is all metal except for the pistol grip and the stock, which are made of very heavy duty plastic. I recently had mine chronographed with .2 gram bbs, and it shot an average of 434 fps, with the high end being 437 fps and the low end being 431 fps. This gun will shred a pop can! The battery will last through 4-5 hours of heavy shooting. The gun is around 36 inches long.
Cons: There is no mount for a sling, the trigger will sometimes get stuck (it is easily unjammed ), and the fore grip is cheap, but it works so its ok. The muzzle brake shown on the box doesn't come mounted on the gun, but its included so you can put it on yourself. The screws are hard to take out because you need a metric allen wrench set. There is slight magazine wobble.
Pros: Very high fps (390-430), solid metal construction, good iron sights (they'll need a little adjusting), great accuracy and range! Also the mag that comes with the gun is very high quality.
